I had a go at knitting separates today. I’m still experimenting with the number of stitches I’m using so it’s a case of trial and error.

The first dress I knitted was too baggy, but the next one fitted pretty well. But when I attempted a wrap-around skirt it was too short and wouldn’t wrap around…I had to give up on that one. So I tried this skirt on four needles. I must have decreased too much towards the waist though – I was worried that it would be too loose – and now it’s a very snug fit. I think I need to go on a diet to get into it properly!

A Korean Launderette

I sound like a broken record, but IT”S STILL RAINING! I just don’t want to go anywhere at the moment, so last night I stayed in and knitted a new dress! This one’s pink. I’m getting better at knitting clothes but the size was a bit too big so it doesn’t fit brilliantly. I’ll have to try casting on fewer stitches next time.

Our washing won’t dry in this wet and humid environment, so this morning we went down to the local launderette. It’s only about 100 metres away, so at least it’s convenient.

If only I wasn’t tech illiterate!

Oh! Things take so much longer when you have no idea what you’re doing, don’t they? I just moved here to my new site this month from my wordpress.com blog and although it’s fun trying out some of the new things I can do, I wish I wasn’t so clueless when it comes to tech stuff. I’m sure it’s taking me hours and hours to do what any normal person could do in 5 minutes. Maybe I should learn some HTML!?  Anyway, better get back to work…

Making clothes

A very frustrating day! I only have this one summer outfit and even this is not that cool so I decided to try to make myself some clothes. But I ended up spending most of the day trying to make what looked like a very simple T-shirt jersey dress. I think I used material that was too stretchy and it ended up going all out of shape…

I followed a pattern from my magazine Dolly Dolly – I bought this when I was in Japan earlier this year- but I’ve I ended up with something that looks completely different to the picture in the book. Continue reading “Making clothes” »
