A rice field in Boramae Park

A warm sunny day in Seoul and Boramae Park is busy. (Boramae Subway station line 7) There’s plenty to do here with many of the usual park facilities available such as tennis and basketball courts, a climbing wall, and picnic areas. But I think it’s quite unusual to have a rice field in a park! But it’s nice to see and maybe good for city kids to be able to inspect the new rice seedlings up close. In another area of the park old men are playing the board game baduk under the octagon pavilion 팔각정 palgakjong, while other people simply relax by the pond brimming with lotus leaves.
